Raka Chenin Blanc – the Cape’s Cinderella grape provides an assortment of treasures from dry to sticky sweet. Josef Dreyer’s rendition is lightly oaked, appealingly racy & will complement just about any dish.
Region: Klein River

South Hill Sauvignon Blanc – made exclusively from grapes grown on the cool mountain plateau of the Elgin area, this superb sauvignon blanc presents generous tropical fruit aromas, following through onto the palate and balanced by a crisp fresh citrus finish. Only limited quantities of these boutique wines are available.
Region: Elgin

Quoin Rock Agulhas Chardonnay – although the winery’s in Stellenbosch, Quoin Rock source these grapes from Cape Agulhas vineyards, which as you know are pretty cool (brrrr) yielding a wine with intense flavours and refreshing acidity.
Region: Agulhas/Stellenbosch

Jean Daneel JD White – our well-regarded eponymous local (go Napier!) makes such a fabulously refreshing blend of chenin, Semillon, sauvignon (with a dash of chard) that we just couldn’t leave him off the list. Enjoy it.
Region: Napier
R100.00
Slowine Rosé – this dry, salmon-pink rose is not so slow at being guzzled at the merest excuse.
Region: Overberg
R68.00
RED WINES:
Two Oceans Pinot Noir – now, we’d never normally choose such a high-volume (albeit popular) brand to serve our guests, but this has got to be the best value pinot around. Enjoy its fruitiness lightly chilled.
Region: Western Cape
R57.00
Henry Shiraz – a full bodied, robust and smooth shiraz, hand crafted in the Napier area.
Region: Napier
R120.00
Slowine Merlot – succulent maraschino cherries on this one. Mmmm. From vines set amongst the fynbos of Elgin’s Groenland Mountain.
Region: Overberg
R85.00
First Sightings Shiraz – Strandveld’s winemaker Conrad Vlok creates this Platter 4-star in a densely fruity style, with plenty of spice & tannin to lend it sufficient seriousness for even the boldest dish Dave can turn out.
Region: Elim
R112.50
MAN Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon – yummy, easy-going cabernet packed with plenty of bright blackcurrent juiciness and lushly-textured, spicy tannins from 8 months in barrel. OK, we’ll quit the winespeak. A perfect example of this ever-popular variety – the king of reds.
Region: Paarl
R67.00
Jean Daneel JD Red – the JD initial is a mark of good quality (and value)! A Platter 4-star for this blend of 5 varieties shows it’s not to be dismissed. The struggle to keep the birds off Jean Daneel’s vines is certainly worth it!
Region: Napier
R120.00
Bubbly: Graham Beck Brut NV – our favourite traditionally-made bubbly, fermented in the bottle to give it ultra-fine bubbles & creamy mousse. Way more delicious and complex than your average pomp d’bicyclette sparkling!
Region: Robertson
